Terms of Service

The Service is intended for high-school-aged students planning for college. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf and consents to your use of the Service.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at the contact email below if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.

MyJourneyIQ offers a free tier and a paid “Pro” subscription. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe and automatically renew until canceled. You may cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods except where required by law. We may change subscription pricing with advance notice; continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Submit another person's academic work, essays, or personal information without authorization.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
• Use automated means (scraping, bots) to access the Service without our prior written consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

The AI advisor, essay coach, and opportunity recommendations are generated using artificial intelligence and are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional admissions counseling, legal, financial, or educational advice, and we do not guarantee admission to any college, scholarship award, or specific outcome. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for independently verifying important information (such as deadlines, eligibility requirements, and application instructions) with the relevant institution before relying on it.

You retain ownership of the profile information, essays, and other content you submit to the Service (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service to you. We will not sell Your Content or use it to train third-party AI models beyond what is necessary to generate the response you requested.

If you generate a shareable link to your profile or plan, you are responsible for controlling who receives that link. Anyone with the link can view the shared content until you revoke it.

The Service, including its design, features, text, graphics, and underlying software, is owned by MyJourneyIQ and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Your Content, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or at our discretion with reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately; provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 10, and 11) will survive.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MYJOURNEYIQ AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ADMISSIONS OUTCOMES, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANYTHING.

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated by email or through a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by the mandatory laws of your jurisdiction of residence.
